• Diamond - April's Birthstone

Diamond is the birthstone for April, the name Diamond is derived from the Greek 'adamas' which means 'unbreakable'. Diamonds have been used as decorative items for thousands of years, the earliest references can be traced back to 25,000 - 30,000 years BC.

Pure diamond is composed of only one element - Carbon. It has a very compact atomic structure, which is what makes diamond so hard. If a diamond is made of just carbon, it will be completely colourless.

Folklore suggests that diamond has several supernatural powers, including the ability to give victory to the wearer, if worn on the left arm, regardless of the number of enemies.

Diamond jewellery can range in price dramatically, when you look at dress rings in comparison to engagement rings, there can be a vast price difference, however, there is often diamond jewellery to fit every budget.

We have a selection of our diamond jewellery available on our website, however, we have a much larger collection of diamond jewellery, set in all different precious metals, from Silver to Platinum, in our high street shop.
